I don't know if you remember me, my husband and I adopted "Skip" (now Kip)
this spring, and I just wanted to give you an update on how he's doing!
Kip is a wonderful dog, very much loved and VERY spoiled! He has really come
around since we adopted him, he used to be very intimidated by men, so we had male friends of ours come to our house and give him treats and then completely ignore him! It worked great; he now no longer has any fear toward men whatsoever.
He and my husband are inseparable when Chris isn't at work. Kip goes with him in the car almost everywhere, and absolutely loves it. We haven't gotten to the point just yet where we trust him entirely off leash, although he is making huge strides with that. He can be trusted entirely off leash in the front yard, which is unfenced, even if someone is walking on the sidewalk. He will go straight to the truck and wait for someone to open a door for him to get in!
He lives for his frisbee and can't seem to get enough of it! He is also great with other dogs and we arrange play dates with my friend's 2 boxers as often as possible. They have an absolutely wonderful time together! He is so hilarious, we bought him a big fluffy dog bed, and as much as he loves it, he also loves to try and squeeze into the little dachshund beds! I enclosed a picture of him curled up in the cat's bed, too. We are so glad to have Kip in our lives, he is truly a treasure!"
