"We recently lost our 14-year-old Border Collie mix to cancer and old age.
He was such a part of our family and left a huge hole in our hearts. About
a year before his death, I contacted WBCR to inquire about another dog.
Tonya wisely advised me that this was probably not the best thing for Ozzie
and he deserved to live out his remaining time as the top and only dog.
Shortly after we lost Ozzie, we made the decision to adopt another dog.
Although we are in Colorado, I contacted Tonya and we got the ball rolling.
The holidays and major snowstorm presented some challenges, but within a
very short amount of time, we were united with Tilly (now Zoie) after Tonya
graciously agreed to meet us halfway on the one day the roads were passable
from Colorado to Wyoming.
Any fear we had about having a puppy were instantly dismissed once we took
one look at Zoie! She stole our hearts the minute we laid eyes on her, and
has been such a joy that we cannot imagine not having her in our family.
She just graduated from Puppy Kindergarten and has the certificate to prove
it! She is very smart and won first place in almost all categories. Even
though she had to miss the agility class (due to being spayed) she came in
third place so definitely has some natural ability. When she is older, she
will probably go back to school. She loves to go to class and especially
enjoys playtime with the other dogs, no matter how much bigger they are than
There is no doubt that we made the right decision to adopt Zoie. She is
happy and healthy, and we look forward to many years of joy and
companionship with her. Words cannot express our gratitude for all that the
WBCR did for us. Thank you!!!"
